Its seems that our public schools blame so much on being parents fault. I often wonder if public school teachers and the district would prefer certain student's to go to private schools.

Yea, blame it on the teachers. It is always the teachers fault. Blame it on the teacher. How about there are way too many standards and benchmarks that need to be taught in a short amount of time. They are having us test AGAIN this month before the state testing. We will have several things that need to be taught yet they are making us test NOW when we still have 3 months of school left and things to be taught. You have all these pacing guides from the district that you HAVE to follow and they give you no time to slow down. A lot of teachers are so far behind because we try to slow down but then things don't get taught. But, it is ok. Teachers are always used to getting the blame. Time to blame the DISTRICT and PARENTS who don't do their jobs. Especially those in lower schools!!!

I think the testing is getting a little rediculous. Our kids are being tested every time you turn around and they don't know half of it. They're being rushed through lessons and tested on things that they barely touch on if they cover it at all. There are entire classes failing tests and having to have grades scaled just so they can maintain a decent GPA. Either the test are too much too fast or the teachers aren't doing their jobs. My daughter has had to go to a website to learn how to do her algebra when the teacher is the one that should be making sure that his students understand what they're being shown. The lessons are gone through too quickly and they get one, maybe two examples of equations and its either you get it or you don't. There's too little time taken to ensure that everyone is on the same page. They should definitely maintain a high accountability on our teachers to ensure that our children get the education that they deserve.
