Don: I thought Duck Place was a pig trail like path that ran parallel to Hwy. 112. Someone, please tell me where 112 leads if turning left coming from the Florida side of the bridge. I could not tell on a map I pulled up.

Can we quit paving everything. They replaced the wooden bridge with a big ugly concrete on, now a pave rds! What's next sea walls? Reserve what little of real natural beauty we have here, and quit trying to move the city out here! Ps Don't Tube down escambia river unless you want to be gator bait, or what to contract some flesh eating bacteria! Can't believe that guy is legally allowed to drop folks in that river with nothing more then tubes. But at least he ain't running locals from parking at Barrinuea. Now patrol the area to keep the trash gone so our kids can to enjoy Barrinuea as we did!!

@Chris, nothing is over until the box goes down the hole.

We have started using Big Escambia Creek for recreation. Great for kayaking, canoeing and tubing, small outboards and pump drives as well.

@ Common Sense : Alive but yes, paralyzed. One of several from the old wood bridge.
@MM : Remember those days. Anything like that is over. It's a shame. Boat ramp, no thank you. Now with Filingims Landing and the new guy renting kayaks, theres enough people on this little river. Used to not see a soul if you fished from a boat.

I remember when a pair of brothers were there on the river. The older brother dove in and broke his neck and died; the younger brother broke his back diving into the river to save his brother. he, if he still lives, is paralyzed from the waist down. My childhood memories.

Love the paved road! It's beautiful and greatly appreciate the right of way donation but I thought it was Barrineau Park Rd. all the way through to 112 and Duck Place was the 1st dirt road to the right heading back East from 112? Anybody?

The days of jumping off the bridge, swimming to the sand bar, watching crazy people living on the sand bar in a bus and driving trucks in the river are now but a memory.

However, I do think a camping area / park / small boat ramp would be great.
