Yes, the possibilities are endless yet I don’t see anything wrong with slapping some paint, changing a slogan, instilling hope, It gets the ball rolling. I know the slogan putting lipstick on a pig can be construed as negative but I myself am a whole lot more attractive with a little makeup It doesn’t hurt.Yes infrastructure and real planning has to be done. Private citizen get on board, even if you don’t live here. Escambia County and P’cola should participate. We are Escambia County District Five. The Gateway and Front door to the area. Call the Beulah fest people.Take action do your part The government of Century can not do it all, they have a place and a purpose but they are not the do all be all.

The possibilities are limitless really. I would rather see money invested into something that makes Century worth drawing people in. Other than slapping some paint on buildings and redoing a sign.

Host the Redneck Parade. We moved to the area and are sorry we missed it. Just provide better security, trash and porta potties etc. I like the Beulah fest Idea here, I’ve seen concerts in a park draw a crowds. Yes Code enforcement, Have the property owners clean it up. Volunteers may show up, provide a dumpster, let it be community service or prison work. What about a real official Florida Welcome Center?

to add something positive, since Beulah can no longer host their festival. Century should consider a large park renovation and bring in music acts? Everything from blue grass/country to R&B artists. With the venue in place multiple events could be hosted there monthly. It would bring in a lot of people to the city, would make a hotel feasible along with the boost to the local stores already in place. I could see new restaurants moving in etc. There is no “city” like that around this area. Century is just the size to pull it off. Rome wasn’t built in a day, maybe model it on that and attract businesses to the area that way? An entertainment city without gambling.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the slogan, just possibly the sign. Maybe keep “The Dawn of a New Century”, but find another logo.

I like that, City of Hope, and yes cleaning up the Gateway. It won’t happen overnight but it has to start somewhere. We like a quote by Henry Ford “Whether you think you can or you can’t–You’re Right”
Yes Century will still be Century and next festival, I’d love to see someone come and put lipstick on a pig..seriously..do it..That would be a fantastic article..like Sopchoppy’s worm fiddling contest or Wausau’s possum festival..l

I like it like it is. Why try to change our heritage by changing slogans that imply that same heritage. We are because of a sawmill. That sawmill was what created this small town.
