I’m glad Gov. Scott did this. President Obama did it for all the federal employees, so I think the state employees deserve the same. Keep in mind that “vital functions” will still have employees working. However, they should get (and deserve) holiday pay for those jobs (corrections, EMS, etc.) Don’t be a grinch just because you don’t like the Governor! I think it’s great.

I agree with Scott on this one.. Nice jesture to give employees an extra day off to be with their families this time of year !! All employers should do the same. It is not a waste of money at all.. Money well spent in my book .!

So for Florida Residents needing to contact the State of Florida for taking care of what ever they need to take care of – it’s just “too bad – so sad” if they miss a deadline? Not to mention, Scott is giving away payroll dollars that will have nothing productive to show for the expense.

I think this is wonderful. Christmas is for family, friends, and loved ones. I am not a fan of government, but this one makes me smile. To those who benefit from this ENJOY!
