In order for the santa run to happen they have to have an officer and 4 other personnel along with santa just to move the truck. Makes it hard on even the volunteer departments. We always had a great time and really enjoyed doing this for the community of Cantonment. Sometimes parents told us that Santa on the fire truck was the only Santa their kids ever saw. We'd start the day after Thanksgiving and go out every night until 9 pm and all day Saturday until Christmas Eve. We kept a map in the station to make sure we didn't miss any roads. Many seniors also enjoyed our visits to them. Thanks to all the fire department members that took part in this every year and to their families that gave them up every night to allow them to participate. JOB WELL DONE!
