Read the 1st amendment and you will see that there is nothing in it about separation of Church and State. There is no law on the books no where about it either. This is some thing a Judge somewhere decided and everybody started to believe it. Inform your selves.

You have the right to be whatever you want to be in America. But that right was guaranteed by Founders who had no problem with Christian prayers in Congress, having a Chaplain in Congress, swearing in the President on a Bible, mentioning God in Presidential addresses, planning the fight for independence in a church, or alerting the people that the British were coming from a church tower.

Some like Thomas Jefferson were not as religious as others but they all talked about God and they certainly weren't Muslim, Hindu or Buddhists.

It was Christians that guaranteed the right to be non-religious if you want and now the non-religious use that liberty to mock and spite the principles that gave them that liberty.

Not wanting tax dollars to go to a Nativity Scene is a valid point for non-religious tax payers, but my tax dollars go to artists that mock Christianity and theocracies such as Egypt, so get over it. The majority of people in the area are Christian have a right to say how the taxes are spent. Not everyone will agree on how taxes are spent.

Christians should not just sit down and be quiet just because courts have ruled for some of these plaintiffs. Liberals are still whining about Citizens United and if the people had just accepted Dread Scott from the Supreme Court then black Americans would still be slaves. Courts aren't always right.

The Nativity scene by itself is illegal on government property.
But add a Christmas tree, a snowman and a reindeer and the display is 100% legal.
Strange but true.
The town got duped with bad direction by their own incompetent town attorney.

Ladyrebel, why should Jay waste money fighting in court when the Supreme Court have ruled the Natavity Scene is illegal on public property.
Duh!!!
I am glad Jay didn't try and break the law any longer and did the right thing and removed it.

Please understand that more than likely someone locally in Jay or surrounding area complained about the nativity scene at the Jay courthouse. It was not like someone from Wisconsin complained to the Freedom From Religion Foundation and had the nativity scene removed. And thank goodness that the person who complained can remain anonymous because I am almost certain that the person would be harassed for complaining about the illegal nativity scene. It has been moved to another location, all is well and people can still see it and worship it any way they like.
