I just figured a (busy) station would make $100 per day, per peny of gas. Per the first comments thats up to $2300 per day. However, for me we’ll say .10 added onto a gallon. So for some local guy to be making $7000 a week on gas is quite a bit. And thats not $7k profit, its $7k more profit over most other stations.
Its also 10 teacher salaries for a year. I understand making a living but damn.

Gas stations actually make very little from selling gas. It’s the junk inside that makes them money, like cigarettes, sodas, candy, deli food, etc… They hate people like me that drive up, pay at the pump, and never step foot inside.

Well, no walking isnt crowded where i live. Maybe if i were part of the yuppy downtown crowd i could walk to the store or to a resteraunt. And the entire time i’d be texting and wouldnt even look up to see when i was gonna run into someone, just knowing they’ll move. Thats your mentality. I hope i get to see the day when the gas and grocery trucks stop coming. People like Sage and Jf who have the mentality of makin that dollar, even when they gotta damn near force people to buy the product (gas), will be the first to be taken advantage of by the mobs of poor.
I couldnt see myself owning a bunch of gas stations and taxing people like that. Hell, i dont own anything and couldnt do someone like that. Just think of how much a busy station makes off adding just a penny per gallon.

Looks like we’re going to be in a price stand off with Saudi Arabia. Oil price doesn’t need to get too low, those jobs are some of the few good paying ones along the gulf coast.

I am visiting pensacola from Dallas Texas and when we left home last Saturday unleaded was $1.91. I heard today it is $1.79 now. Even when I drove through Louisiana it was the same price as here in Pensacola.

Its amazing how most gas stations are at $2.00 -$2.20 and Atmore gas stations Always stay higher at $2.40 – $2.53. Maybe because only one person controls all gas stations. Shame. Thats not helping the economy.

Lower fuel cost equal reduced production input cost, lower to market transportation cost, lower operating cost for our military, more activity by the population in general equaling more retail spending.

In my opinion, lower fuel cost is the key to America getting out from under her eighteen Trillion dollar deficit.

You have to questions how some local (pensacola) stations can sell reg (87 octane) for $1.99 but the majority of stations are still gouging the driving public at $2.25+ p/g?
