Unfortunately many folks can't tell the difference between a Longleaf pine and a Loblolly or Slash pine, but Longleaf is far superior in strength and disease resistance. Most of the pine trees that were snapped in hurricane Ivan were weak Loblolly pines (pulp trees), not Longleaf. @livin’
