I was always taught to hit the brake and steer straight for animals. I have lost count of how many deer I have hit with my bus. Monday and tuesday both I had deer jump out in front of my truck, missing me by inches. I sure hope she is ok. Those things are huge and can do some serious damage.

On that note; Hey hunters, on Pine Forest road, just south of Garrett rd, I saw a beautiful 12 pointer. Also, a lovely Doe on hwy 4 just west of the two bridges, at the top of the hill. Anybody want to take care of some road hazards for me? BTW! I LOVE venison. ;-) (sorry PETA but these things are worse than rabbits around here).

Hope & pray she will be okay soon. I would hate to hit any live animal with my car.

Not necessary. Just depends how big the deer is or where it hits your vehicle. We had a mom of 3, killed years ago when she hit a deer and it came flying through the windshield of her minivan and hit her. It broke her neck and she died instantly. Most of the time I guess it would be better to hit the deer, but it isn't always the safest. Every situation is different. I have a larger vehicle so yes I would probably just hit the deer if it was unavoidable.

I know PETA won't like this, but wouldn't have been safer all around to just hit the deer instead of going off road and possibly killing yourself?
