What made Charlie Crist think that the people of Florida were in any better shape financially than the state? The article says that the state was facing a shortfall, that was the reason for the tax increases. Perhaps the state should have done what the families of Florida did and cut their budget and get rid of deadwood. To someone who has just lost his job, some of the increases were monumental.

It may only help citizens a little but at least Gov. Scott is listening to us when we say the government is impeding jobs with too many taxes. It will help create jobs and I will be happy to get any tax cut we can get!

I’m sure one of the budget things Rick Scott won’t discuss is that in 2006 the Republican Legislature created a ballot Initiative for an Amendment to cut property taxes.
Florida voters passed that amendment which left a giant hole in the State of Florida’s Budget for Gov Crist to fix.
If Scott is going to claim Crist increased taxes, he needs to look at the over all tax amounts that includes the offset of that Property Tax Cut Amendment.
Hopefully media will talk about this as a factor instead of just helping Scott in another smear campaign.
Talking about the differences in candidates is great. Spinning fake political discourse and smear using only parts of information with no context, does a tremendous disservice to the Residents of Florida.
