These mugshots are terrible. I have previously reported this issue to the jail, yet it continues to be a problem.

The mug shots taken at the jail do not conform to The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has developed a standard for mugshot images that will facilitate interoperability between databases and recognition systems used by law enforcement. These standards also help law enforcement identify fugitives and we bail bondsmen use them for the same purpose.

The mugshots that have been taken over the past few month at the Escambia County Jail cannot be used for this purpose. In fact many of the mugshots are just silhouettes.

Please compare this mugshot taken with 100 year old technology to the standard Escambia County Jail mugshot taken today.

It is inconceivable, that with all of the technology available to us, that 100 year old technology creates better mugshots than the Escambia County Jail is capable of creating today.

Yes this garbage is a killer not only to the user but to the people that sell it from the users killing to get it. People are craving anything to get that sensational feeling so they will try to produce a concoction of chemicals and known poisons in the effort to duplicate their best high or a stage better. I heard black pepper will do a number on you when smoked and if enough people do it and create start a fad then the law making people get wind of it then we as law abiding citizens will have to show their ID in order to get black pepper. When a new thing comes up to produce a high the LAW is not far behind trying to stop it as they should.
As punishment for the sellers and the users alike the STATE OF FLORIDA needs to create farms where fruit, vegetables, dairy products, poultry and meat can be produced and sent to the schools and prisons and the other STATE institutions where food is prepared and served to cut the cost where the inmates are put on these farms to work out their time. Yes it would have a big start-up cost but down the road it would become cost effective.

I am tried of people getting low bond for drugs> No I did not read all of story but I hope judge see what is charged and doesn’t let out in low bond.

I’m not condoning what this man did because he knew the law, but this is ridiculous!! A felony???? But there are individuals in other states in this SAME country that can freely smoke weed and get NOTHING. Granted spice is certainly more dangerous than real weed, but still!!! This is the reason why we have overcrowding in jails and the reason why our taxes we pay are a waste!! Let’s say this guy gets 90 days (prob probation knowing our judges) we are paying this guys room and board!! Lame.

If you stoop to the life of transporting illegal stuff you need to have everything on your vehicle working properly to avoid a traffic stop. Changing the color of the vehicle is not a good reason to pull one over as just proven by a higher court but improper equipment is and with a citation issued it will all hold up in court.
SPICE aint NICE.
