The last time these stretches of road received any attention from the county was in the early 1980s. Speed isn't the biggest safety issue here, it's the condition and width of the roadway. Rural highways in Texas have speed limits of 75 mph, after all, and that state's traffic fatality rates are declining. It’s about time. I get passed at 55 mphs. and left like I am standing still! Log and chip trucks are worse, because they take both sides and they are going way over 55 mphs. If people would slow down a little it would be great. or some leo's out there would be even better, maybe the under 16 yrs. would stop racing their dirt bikes on road and playing chicken with cars out here!!!!!!!!!!!! me venting There will always be crashes on these roads because people think speed limit is 85mphs.
