Heck, contact Alabama humane groups. Contact the media. I’ve seen local law enforcement in action assisting with capturing a dog on the run. They do care!! Dog fighting, or owning, training dogs to engage in dog fighting is a Class C felony.. It’s also a class C felony to be a spectator at dogfights.

Before any big corporation opens a business, they study the area. I imagine Walmart saw value in this location and if area crime impacts business, resources should be dedicated to cleaning up the problem. It’s personal choice that brings someone to any business at any location in the wee hours of the morning or late at night. Convenient, maybe, but still a choice. If it’s a safety problem, go another time or go armed with whatever is legal. Be prepared for the opportunistic few. Sadly, it isn’t our grandparents’ world anymore. I’ve heard warnings about the Hwy 29 and Mobile Hwy Walmarts in Pensacola, too, from “locals”..

I’m pretty sure this WalMart is not a 24/7 operation. Regarding the potential for crime, I don’t get it. There’s a huge cemetery on one side and Atmore Realty on the other side and a church across the street. The crime would be driving to Brewton, Bay Minette, or Ensley when there’s a perfectly good WalMart right here.

The City of Atmore invested itself in Rivercane development and spends an untold amount of money on the project….why didn’t they build it there? Had it been built there it would have helped pay off the Rivercane note and all of the strip mall businesses that follow Walmart would have followed.
Had anyone heard any explanation of why it was built at the North Main site? It’s odd that local newspapers in Atmore didn’t address this issue.

A dangerous area for the weak and unsuspecting, especially in the small A.M. hours.

I personally am looking forward to shopping there, tired of driving into P’Cola. Don’t have a huge issue with one being built in Atmore, but the location could have been better thought out.

As far as the little specialty businesses go, if someone is interested in something they exclusively sell at those types of businesses, that cannot be purchased elsewhere, I would imagine they will still get the same amount of business as before.

Am wondering though, if they will be employing parking lot security like many other Walmarts do?

I have to agree with comments above. 2 reasons NOT to go to this store.

Bad location of town

I will not pay taxes on groceries when Fl. is only a few miles away.
