This is a federal sentence, not a state sentence. They do a mandatory 85% of any sentence, but how would you calculate that for life? The federal system DOES NOT do parole! This guy got a life sentence, period. Now, if he were to win an appeal or be granted clemnancy, then that's another matter and that's where the supervised release would come into the picture.
