Re: Sexual Predators

Society needs to be better informed of the differences between a sexual predator and one time sexual offenders. As that story was covered by the media, offenders and predators were basically labelled as being the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Predators are those that will never change and will repeat their crime every chance they get. Offenders are mostly one time offenders that just made a mistake, a lot of times for their situation, it is society jumping to the wrong conclusion resulting in the offender's situation of the label of sex offender in the public eye.

Legislators and others at top state positions also pay around $8.00 per month for health insurance -- a sweet deal.

Anonymous,

The Florida Legislature is in session for 60 days. Starting in September through the beginning of session they have 8 committee weeks.

So Yes, the position of a Representative or Senator is considered to be a part time job. Most of the Senators and Representatives have others jobs other than being a legislator.

So wait... the 2014 session is over?

It's May. 4 months and 12 days into the year. We only have a part time legislature?
