If one is committing a felony you cancel out everything else. I’m guessing that comment was some kind attempt at irony.

The legislation in question – as I recall reading – DOES NOT contain the words ” warning shot. ” But the Media – needing anveasy title, came up with name – a kind of dumbing down the actual title of the bill.

And the bill also says if a gun is discharged out of fear of great bodily harm or as a direct response to a threat, you have to do it where there is no risk to public safety. So that pretty much eliminates the firing of a gun just anyplace.

I hope those “warning shots” are into the ground and not into air or just in the general area of the person being warned. Each year there are people hit by falling rounds from people firing into the air for one holiday or the other. There have been fatal hits on innocent people. Plus the round does not know if you are and innocent by stander or not.
