We added the word “area” to our headline to expand the geography a bit.

The headline is a little misleading. Milestone was only the mustering point. We were sweeping areas that were a mile or two from milestone. These sweeps are done all over the County. Crime is not localized. Kudos to the Sheriff, contrary to Jaleen’s nasty comments.

How do these sweeps work? Are they going door to door looking for issues they think need to be resolved? Checkpoints? I know the article says they’re catching some bad guys, but this really seems like a big violation of privacy.

When they do a neighborhood watch they serve warrants, do vehicle checks, and code enforcement to name a few. The Navy and volunteers do the clean up. Be glad someone cares enough to volunteer to help clean up. There are websites at ECSO that let you check where the predators and offenders are, also where crimes have been committed. they do all the bad areas once a year they have to do nice areas too for profiling reasons… so do your research you would probably find out the place you think needed it more has already been done or on the list for the coming months..
