I live across from Ransom. Prior to the fire two kids were in the field on their bikes. I noticed them but no one has contacted me yet for a report. I was told they have to see if it's an arson first. Makes me think the same kids could be responsible for the bus regardless of how long ago. The fire started right after those kids left. Wouldn't both the exhaust and transmission have cooled down to ambient temperature by then? Did someone come back to try to get the bus out, or was the site visited by some arsonous vandals? When temperature reached the transmission fluid's ignition temperature, seals failed and fluid started leaking. From the looks of that grass it could have just as easily been caused by the bus's exhaust system as frequently occurs when 4X4s and SUVs take to the bush.
