Thanks to Mr. Morgan for his efforts. Jackson also burglarized a resident in our community in SW Escambia on Tuesday. We posted the burglary on our Association Facebook page so residents would contact the sheriff’s office if they observed suspicious activity around the time of the burglary (9-11AM). On Wednesday the Escambia County Sheriff and Pensacola police had Jackson (a registered child sex offender) in custody. Community awareness is the key to protecting our communities–keep up the good work.

Awesome job, hats off to you my friend. I know your dad would be very proud as I am sure he was already.I live in Cantonment, had 3 break ins in 3 years, I recovered a dirt bike that was stolen two different times with my own reward. The DA never prosecuted the one thief because of to much work load. I went three times to DA office to take my deposition and waited multiple hours and never was able to give my statement , instead they dropped the case, go figure.The crime rate in Cantonment and surrounding areas is the worse zip codes in the nation and Sheriff Morgan would never call me back concerning my disgust with police response time when I caught them in the act. I have family in law enforcement and know it takes more than the law to correct crime, it starts in the community as it did here. thank you greatly.

LEO GUY I agree 100%. It would also help if the judges would actually punish these offenders instead of slapping them on the wrist.

Marshall, you’re right. Preying on elderly victims should be an aggravating factor in sentencing, and I also hope the judge will consider and use that in making that decision. Mr. Morgan’s use of social networking is an ingenious and creative way to engage others in the community to help catch a thief. This is one that worked out well, and I hope the victims get restitution and can return to normal life very soon.

We need fewer enablers who tell their loved ones they “just made a mistake”, and instead tell them they are ashamed of them. Tell them straighten up and fly right. I see too many enablers on this site.

People may be getting their belongings back, but they will not immediately get back their piece of mind and security in their home. These CRIMINALS take a lot more than just personal property when they do these home invasions. I hope the fact that there was an elderly person involved increases his penalty after seeing a Judge. I hope there will be NO DEAL made to let him off easy as the Judge did in a friends case back in 2010. Taking ones feeling of security is much worse than losing your personal property.
