To Nikki- the northern states are set up for freezing temp with the day the buildings are insulated. They also sell heavier clothing. I grew up in the north. WE ARE NOT SET UP FOR THESE TEMPS.

Is it really that hard to provide your children with warm clothes? It’s not like it’s snowing or other hazardous conditions. It’s just cold…there are much colder areas of the country that would not bat an eye at the temp here.

We really are turning into a country of whiners. An excuse for anything.

School needs to be canceled. The h1n1 virus is in our area hitting us hard and if a student gets it , it might be mistaken for something else. And it can put a lot more students in danger. Not only that , Tate has a lot of issues with controlling the temperature. So , I as a student at Tate do not feel comfortable going to school. Race coals with the swine flu going around. It’s not at all a good situation. And this is florida. Most stores here don’t sell clothes for these temperatures.

What happens if our kiddos get sick, don’t see escambia school district paying the doctors bill. I think its to cold for school. Some kids might not have warm enough clothes to wear. Some of the schools that are suppose to have heat DONT!!!!! Just close the schools one more day!

Its stupid when schools are just as freezing outside as they are inside. For kids who go to Ernest Ward, Bratt, and Northview its only gonna be between 20 degrees and 31 degrees. I have to wait outside for 30 minutes because my parents work in the morning. Just cancel school for one more day!

it is too cold for my child to go to school santa rosa and baldwin county dont have too so why should escambia county go?

Can you say ” children are going to be in the hospital with pneumonia ” lots of missed work and school for kids going to the doctor when they are coughing their heads off next week …… Grrrrrrrrrrrr :/

Some of my class rooms are certainly not adequately heated. We checked the thermostat …56 degrees. That was in late November. Our heat and air conditioning is controlled by the district…we have to request to have it changed… And it can take a long time…
