I don’t know about coming off of bluff road, but I do know if you turn left onto byrneville road from hwy 29, it is like an optical illusion. the oncoming traffic is a lot closer than they appear. if you think you have enough time, sit there and watch. the cars/trucks coming will be there a lot quicker than you anticipate. it has happened to me many times that the traffic looks ok, but I wait, and sure enough, they were a lot closer. that curve makes them look further, when they are really close. and when they are speeding, it closes the gap even faster. from bluff road, people most likely think the same thing. that they had enough time, but in reality, not at all.

Maybe a red light is needed since we can see so far….hmmm sounds familiar. Maybe the FDOT should do another study

I drove a School bus and went in and out that intersection for probably over 15 yrs and never had a problem with that intersection, I went in and out at least 4 times a day. People do not stop and look. js

Not coming off Byrneville Road, you can’t.
Not unless you actually obey the law and actually stop at the stop sign.

Since so many don’t obey the law, it would help to clear the corners back a bit to give another one or two seconds of visibility to the stop sign runners and it would help to have some sort of convex mirror above the intersection so people could see what was coming from further back.

Renew the rumble strips too.

Paint STOP on the asphalt in BIG, bright letters,

I lived in Bluff Springs until 2001, I grew up there. I learned to drive and spent my whole teenage and early adult years there and NEVER ONCE had an accident at that intersection which I went through at least twice a day when going to school and more than that if I had to go to work or run errands. People need to pay attention and wait 5 seconds for the traffic to pass and not try to beat the cars across the intersection. I’m glad this accident wasn’t bad, I”ve seen several bad ones there.

It’s not a game of frogger people, slow down and take a minute, you life depends on it!!!!

it aint the intersection and it aint the road you can see everything its ppl that dont pay attention when they pull out one to the road

How many times does this have to happen at this intersection before the State of Florida Department of Transportation will put up a traffic signal or straighten out this curve? People this needs to be brought up at a county commission meeting, who is your area commissioner and can’t they come up with $125,000.00 to save more accidents and deaths from happening. Yes, I do realize it’s not the road it’s the drivers that cause these problems but the State did the design and needs to make the corrections! Every time we travel that stretch of road I make sure who ever is driving SLOWS down and I hope my children do with my grandchildren because I don’t want it to be one of us.
