And what it feeds on is the lower-and lower-middle class salaries, and therefore families. If passed, just like the lottery, casino gambling will become ubiquitous in Florida. Casinos will initially start off in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, and will eventually be lusted upon by beach and state line communities all the way to the Perdido River. I wonder if area state representatives and senators would comment in and let the public know where they stand on Mr. Weatherford's proposals? I'm also surprised to see area religious leaders silent on this article. I'm not a very religious person, but this is one issue where I would have common ground with churches. Gambling expansion is a bad idea in Florida. An amendment needs to have a selection for eliminating what we already have in place. Gambling is like a cancer.
