Unfortunately this part of the law should it include utility vehicles will be almost impossible to enforce. Unless a LEO witnesses it or there is an accident with witnesses to confirm the lane and estimated speed of the offender it will be very hard to prosecute. An expansion of a good law with good intentions that will be difficult to enforce.

I carefully move over and slow down for everything I see on the shoulder, be it a break down or a bicycle or whatever.

If you run over someone it will be a day you will never forget and none of us want to see innocent people harmed.

Why take a chance…

READ: “Move Over” law requires motorists to slow down to a speed that is 20 mph LESS THAN POSTED LIMIT — WHEN the limit is 25 mph or greater – OR to MOVE OVER a lane when they approach emergency vehicles parked along the sides of roads.

Back before I had my cancer in ‘09 (been cured) – I drove “big truck” (18 wheeler) I always made it a “habit” to “Move Over” if I saw a State Police , Local Police , Fire Truck , Rescue Truck , Workers On The Side of Highway , Motorist Changing a tire or working on their car or pickup > ITS CALLED RESPECT & BEING SAFE ! Its not fun being within inches of the highway & trying to fix or help someone , but then some drivers don’t even pay attention to or read the highway signs. Its sad that they have to make laws for you to do something that should come “naturally” -”thats my opinion”. Thanks , Have A Safe Day !

“Red” It says if you are in a zone that is over 25, So one would expect that 25 would be ok. But, is it is your flesh and blood in danger, 5 mph doesn’t sound bad.

I drive a tow truck. If you want to get your heart rate up, try hooking up a crashed vehicle while other drivers are passing within two feet of you doing 70 mph.

Sounds like a great idea to me!! I think it should be for any vehicle on the roadside that other drivers should move over if the can do so safely! No reason to drive close to a stopped vehicle if the other lane is open…. Never know when a kid will open a door or step out from behind a stopped car!

I think this would be a good idea, but I agree with “Just sayin…”. I too believe that it should include any vehicle stopped on the side of the road.
