When they have a student that is a point away from passing the
FCAT and makes a 2 and will not receive a diploma, they will receive
A certificate of attentance, they should bump them to a level 3

So a F is not a F? And lets pass the school system and the kids, whom really did not make the grade. Does this sound like protecting the teachers are the school board?

So if the school can lie about their grades why can't the students? It would seem fair, I mean if you want the schools to look better why not let the students look better as well. I think this entire testing system is flawed. This is why, like myself, many are opting to homeschool. We learn many things not just things needed to pass a test so the school can then lie about grades. This is not a good lesson for children. If the school fails it fails, just as the students would.

It would be madness to offer this kind of grade protection to students. Extending this protection to schools seems indefensible for all the same reasons.

However, if the school grades are an inaccurate measure of performance, this measure seems appropriate. Of course, it would be more appropriate to abolish an inaccurate scale than to artificially skew the results.
