Nine Mile Road need to be four-lane from Hwy.29 to Mobile Hwy. Navy Federal
is going to be hiring more and more people soon and the traffic is unreal now and
what then. I thought I read in the paper that Nine Mile Road had priority to be
four-lane.

The section of Nine Mile west of 1-10 and before Mobile Highway does not need to be 4 laned at this time. In the name of future expansion... sure. But the current concern should be the section of 9 mile from 29 to I-10. All of that needs to be 4 lanes, and Pine Forest Road south of Nine Mile too, also to I-10. Put the money where it needs to go.

What about paving Olive Road, it hasnt been redone in a decades.

I cannot understand why Pine Forrest Rd, from Nine Mile Rd. northbound was not four laned. Did they not think all that traffic going south on Pine Forrest Rd would not be returning Northbound in the afternoon. Between 5 and 6 oclock pm. ,traffic northbound on Pine Forrest Rd backs up from Nine Mile Rd to Wilde Lake Blvd.

That's all very nice but how about the portion of 9 mile that has the most traffic? How about from Pine Forest Road to Hwy 29? Why do they think so narrow and small? A couple of years ago they made this section wider but really? They should have taken that money and added a little to it and made it four lanes with a turning lane in the middle! That is a big bottle neck and needs to be addressed much more than out to Navy Federal. Those same cars plus a lot more cars are also on that stretch of road and it really makes no sense not to make it four lanes.

With the continuing growth of Navy Federal, this is not a bad idea. Traffic congestion continues to get heavier on the 2 lane portion of 9 mile road, however, the plan to widen only the portion from Mobile Highway to Pine Forest Road, doesnt make a lot of sense because they really need to widen the portion between 29 and Pine Forest to 4 lanes too.

Would have been a much better plan before they did a full repave on it over the last year.

Hope they would also consider the stretch of 9 Mile Road between Highway 29 and Piine Forest Road. That is the most conjested part. I remember when they studied that sectom about 5 years ago - public meeting was at the same church.

Why just that section of Nine Mile? Why don't they continue and join up at Hwy 29? That doesn't make sense to only do that section. If they are paving that 6 mile section why not extend it another 2 miles?

Of course they will. Navy federal needs to have a special lane for all of its employees and everyone else will just have to endure the 3yrs it will take for the cheapest contractor to finish it. Avalon blvd all over again.
