Houston was a great guy despite his fault (everyone has them). Just to say he did take care of his family and loved everyone around him, he inspired many people with his wise words. He will be missed. My regards to his family you will be in my prayers.

Yes, pray, but put feet to your prayers. Raise your children to avoid foolishly dangerous situations. Chances of NOT getting shot go up. It might still happen but is way less likely

Regardless of anyone’s history, this young man was “somebody’s son, father, brother, nephew, and friend”. @ goodforall, let’s pray this type of violence never hits your loved ones, as Houston Hale Parker was dearly loved. As for everyone else, God’s word says, “Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord”. I pray for my family’s strength and continued faith in God, ALL of our CREATOR.

Mess with the bull, u get the horns. Another drug addict or dealer meets his maker. Rap sheet full of drugs and law breaking. Jail done this one no good. Maybe a lenghty prison stint would been in order and saved this young man.

Getting out of Pensacola doesn’t assure anyone this won’t happen to them.

A 40 minute drive can bring this shooter to your home.
You don’t have to live in Pensacola for it to happen to you and moving from Pensacola doesn’t assure you it won’t happen to you.
Other things make it less likely, but even being on a Navy base isn’t a guarantee.
