He and his wife were especially nice to me and my three boys when we would go in the store for gas or worms. He would always give us fishing tips. They will both be greatly missed. My brother and I would pick up bottles off the side of the highway (back then it was only 2-lane) and take them to Mr. Diamond. He would always let us have what we wanted (candy bars, sodas, etc) regardless of the number of bottles. As a child, I remember seeing him help so many people who may not have the money; I also remember him speaking of the Lord often. Rest in Peace....I'm sure you have a special place in Heaven.
