The question most of us that have lived in this area for a very long time, is why do they keep re-paving 9 mile road and not 4 lane it. All have seen this area grow over the years, and it makes so many of us wonder, why do they spend all this money on re-paving it, putting new turning lanes, when it needs 4 lanes because of the congestion during certain times of the day. They should have 4 laned it years ago!!!

They have done away with several turn lanes to reduce the incidents of accidents – case in point – there is only one entrance to the Winn Dixie Shopping Center. The entrance to Fox Run is being replaced although it will be slightly different than before thanks to those being affected the most speaking up and requesting the turn in the median be replaced. The whole job on 9 mile road has been done well. I travel the road frequently and this has been the best paving job I’ve seen in this area in years.

@ mike: I have noticed a lot of people quit using 9 Mile Rd., because it is way too crowded.

Speaking of FOXRUN….They did away with the turn lane for that road????
It is a subdivision and Credit union entrance, My daughter was almost hit trying to make turn… HOW is a BUS ever going to make that???? I SEE A LAW SUIT IN THE MAKING!

The next project, that probably should have been this project, is Beulah Rd from I-10 up to Muskogee and then Muskogee to Hwy 29. It’s getting pretty bad over there. Like one long continuous pot hole.

They have put wide grass medians down most of 9Mi Rd and gotten rid of most of the turn lanes. Why? Makes me not want to travel down 9Mi anymore.
