Wow about three dozen people, representing a broad cross-section, have been invited to the summit. I find it troubling that the summit is taking place AFTER school has started and see no where that a group of public school teachers are going to be asked their thoughts on what could be done to help in the education of our kids. It would be interesting to poll the folks asked to attend how many have actually taught a class in a public school. Mor specifically a small rural school or an inter city school. But Oh they will come up with some mighty fine ways to change this or test that to satisfy the charter and voucher folks. I just bet old Jeb Bush is going to be there also spewing his ever depressing and make-no-sense policies. I wonder how many of our two county school board members plan to attend? Maybe just to get ideas on what otheres are thinking. Just a thought. Good luck this year teachers and students.
