call me skeptical — i think you have a valid perspective…just not convinced that it is the driving force for bondi and gov scott persuing this sad (but needed) investigation…im sure that most, if not all, states have their historical “dirty linen”- if the truth were known….we all know that the truth hurts sometimes, but this is the correct legal and moral thing to do…as for the townspeople and local politicians, well….rest assured that there WILL be a prime-time movie made, which will probably generate additional income to the area in time…the truth shall set you free.

Time to face the music…if you dance to the tune you have to pay the piper! Bad things happened at a lot of orphanages, boys and girls “homes” and should never have happened. Maybe some of the people who did this are still alive and they or their families don’t want anyone to know what happened!

Note this important sentence from the story– “A temporary restraining order, issued in October 2012 by Leon County Circuit Judge John Cooper, has DELAYED the STATE’s INTENTION to SELL the DOZIER PROPERTY.” [caps are mine, for emphasis]

It sounds like the state wants to sell the property, and knows they can get a better price by exhuming the remains first. Sounds like Gov Flim Flam’s real interest may be cutting a deal with a land developer rather than giving families closure.

Just my opinion.

I agree with mother regarding Jackson County. Your history is your history and you have the responsibility to bring it to light, deal with it, and try and learn something from it so it won’t ever happen again.

Jackson County residents and Sid Riley are worried about what it will do the economy. What about the family of these children that have wondered for years about what happen to them. It is bad for business that a town will not stand up and do what is right. I would never spend my money in a town that is more worried about money that what happen to these children. This town will be remembered as the town that did not want to uncover these crimes. . Jackson county should be supporting this. It would be much better for business.

Give closure to families!!!! Especially since they were kids!!!! Rather u spend it here than on years and years of TAX PAYERS MONEY, than on losers that r on death row!!!!
