Any update on the condition of this person? Cottonmouths and copperheads have been in abundance this summer….I have seen as many as 5 a day killed in our area.

A cottenmouth is more dangerous than a rattlesnake even.i wonder if he was wearing any shoes or anything? You NEED too be careful when u walk outside

aLL i CAN SAY EVEN IN POOLS YOU ARE NOT SAFE, MY POOL CLEANER HAS FOUND SEVERAL SNAKES IN THE SKIMMERS. tHIS YEAR WE HAVE FOUND PLENTY OF FROGS AND TWO TURTLES. sO CHECK THOSE SKIMMERS BEFORE YOU JUMP IN THE POOL. WATER IS WATER, AND IF THEY WANT TO GET IN IT, SNAKES WILL GO WHERE EVER THERE IS SOME. bE SAFE AND CHECK.

This why when grkids visit and want to go swimming..we drive to the beach…Snakes can hide any where along a creek.

i was at my grandparents pond fishin a month or so ago an seen a big cotton mouth right infront of me an two kids. found out the next dyy it was the momma cause we were back fishin an killed 3 babies an seen 2 more that got away. the man that takes care of it went down there after i called an told him an one strukk at him. if it wasnt for his boots nn him movin he would of been bit.

Snake repellent, from what I understand, irritates the snake as it crawls across the repellent. Plus it’s really not cheap. I have 3 acres and it would cost a fortune to run a band of repellent around my property. I can buy 7.63×39 cheaper than that!

For those who don’t know, you can buy a snake repellent at the hardware store to put around your property. I think it is sulfur based.

snakes like water… cold water will not stop them if they want to bit someone….if its super hot outside an you are at the creek/river just check ya surroundings befor ya get in the water, and make sure there are no snakes layed out on a log….

That’s like about what? 2 weeks ago at waterville that girl was bit in the lazy river and i was just there a few weeks before…im scared to go back there much less a river…i think the weather plays a big part of these things coming out. Last week on my front pourch was some kind of baby snake, about 6 incehs long and dark, i dont live by water but have woods behind my house, i live in Pensacola off mobile hwy so to me this was unusual but i will NOT go in my backyard and im scared to walk through my grass, my kids have to play out front in the culdesac no longer in the yard
