I was amazed that CNN and Mr.Gene on TV last night talking about Mr. Middleton getting shot. What really amazed me was nothing was said about the 17 year old being shot and another teen wounded. Oh I forgot black on black crime isn’t news any more only when whites shoot black is that news. The shooting of Mr. Middleton had nothing todo with RACE until the news media got it all started and the family went along wit it. I am sorry that Mr Middleton was shot I wasn’t there so I don’t know how it went down. As for the 17 year old being shot thats very sad.

Sad to see another child lost again. prayers for all. Drugs & Thugs are taking over everywhere. Time for change is now. Parents need to step up and handle their area. Thugs need to go. Only the responsible Parents and Children can make this happen. parents take care and protect the little ones by any means necessary against Drugs& Thugs.

Randy, how are they to get involved? If you shoot a thug then you get charged for murder & if you call 911 & report someone trying to steal a neighbor’s car then everybody is trying to get you charged for somebody gettingshot because they’re not obeying obeying police orders. So it’s not gonna get any better until these parents start whipping butts & when Dcf comes they tell kid to do what your parents tell you to unless it’s endangering the child & they start learning some respect.

I see fingers pointed at the sheriff but I think that’s not really fair. My brother in law was a deputy until about 6 months ago. 40+ deputies have left ECSO in the last year. When they have full strength they only have something like 350 deputies. The best and brightest of our deputies are leaving because the county commissioners won’t give them a raise. A friend of his went south for higher pay, another went to Navy Federal to work outside of law enforcement. I’ve met both of these guys and they’re both smart guys who I thought were good to have serving our community. ECSO hasn’t had a raise in 6 or 7 years and my Brother in law (after 9 years) was making the same as the people he was training. Until the commissioners fund raises for good deputies we will never be able to keep the good ones and get rid of the bad ones.

At least the numbers for Pensacola and Escambia’s Thugville won’t be a suprise at the end of the year, when the county again earns the highest homocide rate in the state. This is Escambia’s 12th. murder of the year right behind number 11. This lawlessness in our county is disappointing. But then again when the sheriff is putting all his effort into power playing the county commission over the jail, concentrating on arresting criminals has to take the backseat.

1. Pensacola has seen an increase in violent crime, don’t kid yourself. The undesirable activity will only get worse, unless the citizens of this county get involved in their neighborhoods and become the eyes and ears for law enforcement, IMHO….
