You have to come to a COMPLETE stop at this intersection. Most people do a "rolling stop" making the corner of their windsheild a blindspot. I used to live 1/2 from this intersection, and have witnessed numerous people make a rolling stop here.

Tuf the Original on July 14th, 2013 5:44 pm:

““I know whats there isn’t working”
So, what more should FDOT and Escambia County do? Put up an $80,000 signal so people can run it?
It’s the drivers, not the design of the highway. DRIVERS need to stop at STOP signs and falshig (SIC) red lights, evaluate the intersection and traffic situation, and proceed safely. And, DRIVERS need to figure that lowered speed limits and flashing amber lights mean caution and slow to the posted limits.
There is no need to invest gargantuonormous (SIC) public dollars anynfurther (SIC) for such low traffic counts. Drivers simply need to follow the laws regarding posted signs, signals, and traffic patterns.”

Truer statements were never more spoken! My husband and I discussed this, while sitting and waiting on the highway traffic to pass as we wanted to turn onto Highway 29 from Byrneville Road. Honestly the view is clear all the way up the highway. Just wait on the traffic to pass. (If you don’t wait at the intersection, you’re going to be waiting outside the Pearly Gate for St. Peter to call your name.) So what is the better wait, at the intersection or at the gate?

Been driving up and down that highway a long time. Never understood why the reduced speed, lights, and signs. Doesn't seem to have been effective. The only restricted vision is not on the highway. Byrneville and bluff springs roads seem to be the problem. I know whats there now isn't working.

With only minor injuries, the LORD was in control in this accident. We made new friends today and am thankful they are all okay. Safe travels rest of the way home!

A 55 zone all those warning lights flashing, and it still happens. I think that is the second to happen at that old store in the last three months. But let us wait till the report to come out.
