First, this agency is the ECSO, not ECSD. It is a constitutional office, not a department of a city government.

Second, no, the pay is not standard throughout the states. Pay depends on size of population, staff, tax base, etc.

I can tell you that there and many in the admin that are making 90k+, with several over 100k, when starting deputies are struggling to make it at 34k.

It would be interesting to know the rank structure and associated pay grades of the ECSD. I wonder if these are standardized across LE agencies in the 50 states.

I can remember when it came time to study for the promotional exams, every one was running to Eric who had put on some classes to help people study. No one seem to have a problem with him then. Why now? He was and still is always trying to help people better themselves and this is the thanks after he takes the Chiefs job. Regardless as to how much you try and do to make that place a better place to work, there will always be those employees that are just going to complain. I think Eric will do a fine job as Chief and he’ll be fair. He’s smart, educated, has the experience in that line of work and has worked his way up through the ranks. It also seemed that a lot of you had a use for him when it came to him supporting your candidate for Sheriff. I guess that was just like it always is around there. If some one can do something for you, then he’s good. But if he’s no longer in a position to do it again, you have no use for him. Typical Sheriffs Office two faced employees . Eric, do your job to the best of your ability and remember, if you can make 51% happy, that’s a successful day. Keep your head up. You are qualified for the position and I’m glad to see Morgan get his head out of the sand. I do believe he was told what Aiken would do if promoted to Chief. But some folks have to find out on their own. You all take care

Well he got two wishes this year. He was able to get rid of the jail( his goal all along) and climbed the ladder again. Be afraid people, be very afraid. I’m reasonably certain this man is the anti-christ.

Interesting that they claim that he has “been instrumental in negotiations concerning the budget and the transfer of the Escambia County Jail.” Haines hates the jail and all of the employees that work there. He has wanted to get rid of the jail for quite some time, and now he has managed to get the Sheriff to do so.
