Best wishes to Ms Ates & her family. People will think I am crazy but this is the best thing that could have happened to this young driver. My daughter had a wreck that made her the safest driver on the road because it made a believer out of her. The officer was standing by the pick-up she had been driving and was holding her license when I got there. He said he couldn’t believe it, she hadn’t had the license 24 hours! She hit another car with a family inside leaving a church so I knew the Lord had protected all of them. Accidents are a nightmare for the driver and are never forgotten.

Many of us were in accidents when we were young, even some of us old fools too, because we were simply not driving safely, which covers a multitude of bad decisions and actions.

I pray for this young ladies recovery and may she benefit from the lesson. Us too.

I understand totally defending your daughter but you’ve also got to teach her… Enabling her to think that this was not her fault only causes more issues in the future. Be thankful she wasn’t seriously injured and consider not letting her drive for a while.

I would like to say that our entire family is so thankful to God for seeing Autumn through her wreck. I personally wrecked my own car several years ago and it is a
terrible feeling. Things happen so fast and anyone of us can have an accident at anytime. The fact that she is sixteen makes no difference that it would if she was 25 and accident is still just that an accident. God has been good to us and if the only problem that comes from this accident is a slight increase in ins. than we will take that. We could be having to make funeral plans today instead, we are just praying that her wounds heal quickly.

I’m sorry Mom, but I have agree with LISA, it takes some effort to flip a1997 Lincoln Town Car, not a “safe driver”. I’m glad you appreciate the fact that she survived and thank God for it, but, hopefully high insurance rates will keep her of the road till she matures some. It’s obvious you love your daughter, but, don’t overestimate her abilities or responsibilities!

Your daughter flipped a car while driving @ a high rate of speed, she’s only 16, where did you find in a dictionary that she was a safe driver, lets see if that safe driver gets you a discount on your ins. Lol

@ Rhonda Currie, you can rant all you want about that driver not flying down the road, however, she was speeding in the true sense of proper driving. A driver should not be driving in excess of the conditions, regardless of any posted limit. A driver must remain diligent and in due control of the vehicle at all times. If this were to be the case then the so called accident would not take place.
Yes she should be cited for not maintaining due control of her vehicle and not driving at a proper speed for the conditions.
It is good that she was wearing her seat belt and was not seriously injured. She will be a more cautious driver from this lesson.

@mom – thanks for the update and I am truly glad your daughter will be ok. However, what information is posted on this website is public record released from police reports. Northescambia doesn’t just post things to be spiteful – they do it to release public info to the public. and if you don’t want to be upset about inane comments that people leave on comment feeds, it is usually best to not even open up the can of worms by visiting those feeds.
