Hopefully, these projects will bring in some permanent jobs for local people. It is good to see the construction workers have jobs and income during the building process but the long-term employment needs to be sustained also.
Perhaps the fish hatchery can be built so it also serves as a public invited area where us locals and visitors can view the fish in the process of being raised. Make it an educational area and one that would attract people to follow aquaculture as a career.
What happens to the fish once they are matured enough to release?
Are they put out into the Gulf?
Or do they end up laid out on ice somewhere? Hushpuppies, please.
