It's been awhile, so I may be wrong. There also are no crosswalks and definitely not a stop light at the Tom Thumb there at the comer. It's hard enough to get onto Mobile Hwy from Tonawanda, but you've got drivers turning (legally) across Mobile Hwy not only from Tom Thumb, but also those in the opposite direction coming from the Family Dollar/Dollar General, Happy China, Pep Boys, and the roach motel (unless its been torn down). It's just not a safe place for anyone to cross on foot and, in my opinion, there should be pedestrian signs warning against it. Pedestrians wearing dark clothes are extremely difficult to see. It's especially dangerous when they don't use the crosswalk and traffic lights. A lot of people cross at multiple sites at that area, with cars entering and leaving multiple businesses, and the speed limit is 40 MPH there, so it is a miracle that more people are not hit there. It has just always puzzled me as to why, when there are good sidewalks, people insist on putting themselves in danger and the motor traffic at risk, by walking in the roadway.
