<description>I did not know Mr. Long personally, but I did have a chance to get to know his son Michael for a short period of time. We worked hand in hand together recently when he ask me to help him find a way to get he and his dad home to McDavid from Washington, Indiana where they had gone to visit friends. During that visit, Mr Long had a severe stroke and could not return to Florida in a conventional manner. Michael and I finally determined that our best option was to hire a medical transport van for the ten hour ride. His only concern was to be able to get his father home where he could be with family and friends. He showed me a great deal of compassion in many ways and how much he loved his dad. It was truly a beautiful father-son relationship, and I was blessed to have been able to witness that and to have been a part of their lives for a short period of time. My prayers go out to Michael and all of his family and friends.
