Mrs. Mathis was a very special person who had a big heart for students and her family as well. She was the dean when I was at Carver Middle School. She was never ashamed of her disability. No matter how bad she might have felt when she came to school everyday, you could always walk down the hall and see that she had a big smile on her face. She didn’t allow things to get to her and she never allowed her bad days to show. Mrs. Mathis, was always willing to share the story of how she ended up with polio with me and all of my classmates. Mrs. Mathis would always listen and try to help you with any problem that you might have. She always gave sound advice and never steered you wrong. She was also my assistant principal in the tenth grade at Northview High School. The one thing that I will miss about Mrs. Mathis is the big smile that she always had on her face and the kind heart that she always shared with others. She will be truly missed and loved by all that knew her. *Rest In Peace Mrs. Mathis*

Mrs. Mathis was a very lovely person and loved by so many folks. She will be missed, but thank God no more pain for her. God please be with her family at this time of grief and give them comfort and peace.

Omg mrs mathis was the principle at northview when i was there ten years was aago. A huge inspiration and she was a good leader

She was the principle at Earnest Ward Middle School when I attend there for my eight grade year. She was nice to me. May God greet her as a friend.
