Really, this is a shame of a sentence handed down! And people wonder why some take the lives of others, maybe this is a prime example, a slap on the wrist for murder/manslaughter, call it what you may, in my opinion the taking of anothers life is murder!! Our justice system is not doing it’s job!! Officers work to bring criminals in just to be given such a small punishment!!!!

You have to remember this is in ALABAMA and I am sorry but this is how this state works. A lot different then Florida. There are cases in Florida where people have gotten off easy but not this easy. I feel sorry for the victims family. Justice did not pay off in this case what so ever. You want to kill someone and get off easy? Go into Alabama.

Alice, I’m not sure what press you are referring to, but since your comment is posted on this page, I can only assume you are referring to NorthEscambia. The article above says he was originally CHARGED with capital murder but pled guilty to manslaughter. I see nowhere in this article where the two terms are being used interchangeably. If you are referring to comments made about murder, they aren’t the press. They are just folks making comments on an article.
