Amen to the speeders on this road. Those of us that drive the speed limit get cursed and passed while doing so. I too agree on a speed trap for a week or so, let them pay the extremely high ticket cost now days and I bet they slow down or find a different route.

Excuse me, but I do believe the article stated above states the accident was still under investigation… If speed was the issue, isn’t that usually stated in an article right off the bat. Why are most of these comments basing this accident on speed. I know for a fact several people who have been in accidents (one being my son who was hit by a drunk driver) and speed wasn’t the issue. Let’s face the facts and not speculate just because of an accident. People living in the area know that the ditch is pretty much the first place your going to go if you get in an accident on this road because ditches are all these roads are lined with and this is not a city maintained road, it’s a country road that is not lined with the proper roading and sidewalks as you let one tire get off the pavement and you could have a wreck without speed and without another vehicle being involved…

I have a business on Jack’s branch and drive the road every day. It’s not unusual to get into a pack of cars heading to work in the morning doing 75 and if you don’t keep up they tailgate you till they can pass you double yellow lines or not. Definately an unsafe mindset has developed for this particular stretch of highway. With the growing density of people there and all the families with small children living there we are growing closer and closer to having a major tragity.

This is a very dangerous road, I think the lanes are to small for two cars to travel side by side on, especially the bridge. The County Road Dept. should put reflectors in the center of the road for the whole length of this highway. Very dangerous highway, be careful driving on it.

I hope the everyone involved recovers completely.
I travel this road daily and have seen many bad wrecks over the years and have had a few scary moments myself with people crossing the line and speeding.
With summer coming up and the beautiful weather people will be headed to the river and I know for a fact there are too many drinking drivers up and down this road all summer long. I really wish we had more speed patrol on Jack’s Branch to better control it.

I drive this road twice a day 5 days a week and also on some Saturdays, I have been passed on double yellow lines on curves and hills by SPEED DEMONS who have no regard for speed limit signs or laws or your safety. Maybe a State Trooper could do a speed trap on a few days and charge these IDIOTS. It does not matter if daylite or dark these people will pass you anytime. Why don’t you just leave 5 min. earlier and save a life, it maybe yours you save.

Lets blame everyone but the one who caused the wreck. I drove that road for 18 years and never had an accident. Time to stop blaming county commisioners, red lights, and drive ways and accept the fact that bad drivers are the problem.

The bride and I we’re. Almost hit by two vehicles in the same spot in the am yesturday morning. The curve is a ongoing problem and needs to be corrected. Instead they r paving 9 mile from pine forest to university Blvd. Te is nothing wrong with it so lets fix it. But untilled we get a decent commissioner we will continue to watch friends and family’s have to deal with their families or maybe themselves being involved in a accident. In that curve. My heart and prayers are with her and her family.a very nice lady.

No one pulled out in front of anyone. I was told that the Grand Marquis was coming from the North headed towards Muscogee and the Honda was headed the opposite way. The Grand Marquis driver drove off the shoulder and overcorrected and was snatched across the road into the path of the Honda.
