		<description>The raises would be great but there has to be money in coming years to continue to support them.  A raise is forever, unless there is an across the board pay cut, and there has to be sustainable funding for that.
Not real sure the Governor can give raises. I think the Legislature may vote to provide an increase in the General Fund but it is up to Local School Boards and Teacher Unions in negotiations to make the decisions as to how the money is provided to the employees. And, not each school district receives the same percentage of the state monies.
