Mental illness is the problem and needs attention not taking away our guns so we cant protect ourselves. Im a woman and own several guns and I feel safe in my home. Any cop will tell u to arm yourself because it can take some long minutes for them to get there to help u and by then it could be too late. The day the govt thinks they will take away our guns there will be a civil war! Im so glad to hear this and that people are standing up to the govt. for our rights. I once posed a question on another thread on this sight, asking a "pro gun control advocate" what he would do if 2 people did a home invasion on his house, with one carrying a large military knife, and the other a sawed off shotgun. His response was, with gun laws, I wouldn't have to worry about someone having that shotgun. That's the problem with these "pro gun control" people! They think if someone breaks into your house with a gun, you can say, "Hey buddy, having that gun is illegal" and they will respond, "Oh, my bad pal!" and put it down. Sheesh! And there is the problem people!!

I left Maryland and came to Florida partially because of the local attitude about firearms; Maryland can put tight controls on them while the murder rate in Baltimore is astronomical. What makes the politicians think that banning guns will affect the murder rate, the last time that I looked murder was illegal in all 50 states, but it still happens every day. Like the old saw says "what do you do when you only have seconds to react and the police are minutes away?" I for one am firmly behind the introduction of the resolution!
