I met Johnathan in the Summer of 2011, shortly after my boyfriend passed away. During that time period, I was extremely depressed and having a hard time living day to day. I quickly thought of Jonathan as a “real” friend with whom i trusted and enjoyed having him in my company. He was there for me during the saddest time in my life, and that’s how I will remember him by. However, I haven’t seen him in about a year because our lives went in two different directions, but I still kept him in the back of my mind and thought about how he was doing, quite often. Having an addiction is extremely difficult for some people to overcome, and instead of getting help, he decided to continue with his path of destructive, addictive behavior, which has now caused harm to a child, and a massive amount of legal troubles. I am still very shocked!

The child is SUFFERING because of this. God blessed those parents with a child, and it was the parents DUTY to protect that child. They failed due to their selfishness, and they don’t deserve to be parents anymore. Why, oh why, should the rest of us feel sorry for grown adults that subjected a small child to that environment?!!! YOU LIE IN THE BED YOU MAKE. Society doesn’t like kids abused like this……….don’t try to get us to feel sorry for these people who could have sought help but didn’t. Your type of thinking is called co-dependency.

Well, as owner of my home, I can tell you that NOBODY will be making meth in my house. And I don’t agree with feeling sorry for a family member who takes the route of using drugs. It’s called TOUGH LOVE, and this is probably why there are no drug abusers in my family. Being soft just prolongs and in some cases promotes the drug use. SMH

JoJo I get what you are trying to say…

temptation is the devil looking in thru the keyhole, yielding is opening the door and inviting him in… In other words.. The devil is always watching us waiting for the chance to get our attention and for us to let him in to destroy our lives. He has no preference to who, what, when, or where. And that my friend is the bottom line of what has happened here. These people yielded to the devil and now they are paying the ultimate price with their lives and possibly the life their precious child. There can be no explanation, other than that, no matter how good or bad the people involved. I agree that everyone involved and anyone that reads the story needs to hit their knees and thank god it was not their child or family member this time. We have no guarantees in this life, we just have to be conscious of our surroundings and our choices, and never yield to temptation. The easiest way to accomplish this is with prayer. And this Nana for prayer is going thru this with a family member at this very moment, so I know all too well the destruction it can cause.

Due to the negligence of these so-called parents, and assuming this child survives, he/she will have gastrointestinal problems for the rest of their life.

If you want to destroy your own life with meth, then so be it. The fact that this chemical was actually stored in a child’s sippy cup is beyond repulsive.

I really hope that the child survives, and these people only see the world around them through a fence topped with razor wire for the rest of theirs. It’s just too bad that they didn’t store it in a bottle of Milwaukee’s Best.

This is a horrible situation and our community needs to join together and put a stop to the child abuse and drug abuse that is happening EVERYWHERE around us! I believe that Mr. Olson and Mr. Godwin didn’t have anything to do with this and justice will prove that. These men have families, parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousin, neices, nephews and friends who are very distraught over their behavior. Step back from your judgement and maybe throw a prayer in for the child involved, our community and the family members who are hurting.

Yep, some people should not reproduce. Poor Child never had a chance. Prayers for the child, none for the adults. I realize some bleeding hearts may think that is harsh, but they knew there was a child in the house and they put a dangerous chemical in the sippy cup anyway. There is no excuse for that.
