I do forget if I ever knew, and if it is indeed true.
(So much is said which is not true that it is hard to know.)
I do remember that the counties with the worst problems had fellow Democratic supervisors of elections

David,
Don't forget that two polling stations in the minority sections of Miami had voting machines that completely failed and all of those votes were never counted! I don't have a dog in this fight since I am a libertarian and believe both of the crooked parties have been bought and paid for through their campaign donations, etc. but I do believe the Republi-crooks pulled something similar to what the Demo-crooks did in Chicago to help elect Pres. Kennedy.

REGARDING:
"I think the SCOTUS appointment of GW Bush to the presidency is still fresh on people’s minds."

He was elected by the majority of voters in Florida. The votes were recounted repeatedly and GWB continued to have the majority. Further, the people of the state reconfirmed their wishes by reelecting him four years later. What the Supreme Court said was that they couldn't change rules in the middle of the count, despite the cries by my fellow Democrats to try.

All that hard work and President Obama still managed to have enough people determined to make their vote count. I think the SCOTUS appointment of GW Bush to the presidency is still fresh on people's minds.
