Isn’t walking on or near RR tracks now tresspassing. I’ve seen signs in certain areas near depots.

I grew up walking down train tracks to visit a local store to get a chocolate milk or some candy. i learned balance by walking on the rail. i have never been hit by a train or come close to being hit by a train. THE TRAINS HAVE HORNS if you listen you will hear them, and if you pay attention you will see them ahead of you, and periodically you should look behind you. i agree with charlie, trains can’t swerve to miss you! if you are going to walk down the tracks you have to watch for the train, the train shouldn’t watch for you! If i was smart enough to watch for trains as a child why can’t adults seem to grasp that concept?

This person must have a mental problem. The train is on a track and can’t swerve to miss you and by the time the operator see you, the train can,t stop.

So he heard the train and still didn’t get completely off the tracks? I thought it was bad enough that we have so many pedestrians getting struck on/along the road, but this takes it to a new level.

I have seen lots of pictures with people on Railroad tracks…I often wonder if they realize how dangerous that is? I see people walking on the tracks, and think “why would they do that”? They aren’t even walking on the side…they are on the tracks!
