I was the woman and the crash and that road is very dangerous. It was raining that night and was dark. But none of that had anything to do with the wreck nor speed. Tire rod broke on the car becuz it was previously in an accident and wasnt looked over properly. I lost control of the car with the slippery roads..I remember loosing control then waking up to them using the jaws of life. THANK GOD I was wearing my seat belt and THANK GOD my 2 week old wasnt in the car becuz the side that was crushed was the side i normally put her in at.. EVERYONE JUST BE CAREFUL AND WATCH OUT. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN!

Sorry you can't keep blaming the lack of lights or the deer everything else. Bad or unsafe driving is the most likely reason. I drive all the time on unlit roads, with deer and other critters, but I try to drive doing speed limit, not using cell phone, ect.. Stop blaming everything under the sun.

that is a bad strech there, even though you wouldnt think so. Long and straight with deer and other critters on the road. Also, pitch black after dark and a bad spot for fog. Seems like an awful lot of serious accidents right in that area. Maybe time to add some street lights?

Just because they don't show wrecks on channel 3 does not mean they don't happen. We are fortunate to have William who gives us "red headed step-children" news on what affects us in the north end. There are many times when I am in town (Pensacola) I see horrible wrecks and expect to see it on the news but don't. Personal oppinion is channel 3 and pnj are only interested if someone is killed in car crash or bigger headlines like people getting shot.

Complacency @ high rates of speed, improperly-banked & "diminishing radius"-engineered curves, over-confidence in one's own driving skills, dark dark stretches of road, people that don't dim their lights for oncoming traffic- there are usually other factors outside alcohol @ work in most of these accidents.

It has taken me decades of practice to be able to maintain traveling speeds during adverse driving conditions on some of these "rural" backroads. Not recommended for dilettantes, or those afraid of the inevitable crashes while working on form.

"Flirtin' with Disaster" - "...it ain't for everybody!"

Almost every time I open this news website, there is a photo of an auto accident. Usually the cars are flipped over or wrapped around a tree. What the heck is going on with the roads in north Escambia? Is it speeding? Poorly maintained roads?
It just seems like there are way more wrecks than there should be for a rural area.

CONSIDERING:
"Godwin was wearing her seat belt in the crash"

very likely the reason she's still alive

David for living people
