The word SAD is an understatement of how this story makes me feel.
What is wrong with people these days?
Just another bit of proof that this world is slowly coming to an end for us and it’s not getting any better.
I hope the justice system works for her and what she had to go through even tough the damage is done and she will never forget this horrible ordeal.
I pray for her to work through this and know that not all humans are bad people like the ones who did this to her.

There were a great deal of Budget cuts not to long ago that cut or ended services for people with Mental Problems and/or Mentally challenged Adults which I remember commenting on at another website and thinking that those cuts were going to place the burden of care on families that were not able to properly deal with these family members.
I also commented that it was very likely these family members would suffer abuse and then the care takers would end up in jail and the mentally challenged person would go back to being a ward of the state.
I don’t know if this situation with this person was affected by those cuts, but I would be very curious to know. If so, those cuts ruined the quality of life for everyone involved and will now cost the tax payers much more than it would have if those funding’s had not been cut.
Also, I’m not making excuses for these jerks or their abusive behavior if funding cuts has a part in this story, but it would be something worth considering in regard the taxes we pay and what we want society to look like if we can prevent scenarios like this from occurring.

Think if our court system lived by these words our world would be better?

She probably stole the cell phone to call for help. That poor lady. These are the kind of people that don’t even deserve a trial. They just need to be dropped of in Siberia.

Now, what remains to be seen is how the victim in all of this ends up being cared for. I hope northescambia.com will continue to follow her situation (as much as privacy laws will allow) and hold officials accountable for her treatment. She is the defenseless victim here, and certainly deserving of better than this. cygie said it best – “Whatever you do to the least of these my children…” Now, let’s see how our enlightened society treats this one of His children.
