It may equate to the sins of the fathers, but children in poverty should not have to go hungry, regardless. Yes dependents of prison inmates recieve EBT, but it is not through choice of their own design or action.

If we ignore hungry children we overlook the consequences to society, which will be incurred through maldevelopment in the physical and mental aspects of these children. We need well developed adults to fill the ranks of tomorrows citizenry. I feel that the cost is worth it. I would suggest that our congress persons start cutting foriegn aid and focusing on problems at home, that is if the lobbies will let them.

Most of the people I see using their “snap” card don’t really look hungry, lol. I thought the old commodity program was pretty good for feeding the poor but it didn’t let them buy anything they wanted, so I guess it was demeaning (satire intended). We definitely need to reform this program. Americans don’t want anyone to go hungry but let’s go back to commodities, that helps the farmers and the poor with less abuse in the system.

I know several seniors who depend on their EBT cards for food because they only get about $850/month from SSI. This would really hurt them and I don’t think they are parsites, just elderly who never got much more than minimum wage and some of them work just to buy their medicine. This would be another instance of “pushing granny off the cliff”.

I wish Congress would cut SNAP, but they’re afraid of losing the parasite vote.

SNAP is socialistic. It shouldn’t even exist as a government program. I suspect that a large percentage of the prisoners in America were also members of families that received food stamps.

No need to worry. No cuts will be made to this MOST HOLY of SACRED COWS. It is worth too many votes as evidenced by the last election. There are truly some people for which this program was designed to help, but has become the most abused federal program of all. A program that has turned millions into liars, cheats, and theives, to reap the benefits of this white elephant, at the expense of working folks
supporting it by being taxed to death. All the while struggling to feed themselves by doing the decent thing, which is working for a living, putting food on their own table by their own labor, not somebody else’s.
