A resident on nine and half mile rd. was picked up by ambulance at 7:15am this morning with trouble breathing. This resident is now in I.C.U. on resperator due to the smoke from this landfill, confirmed by medical doctors at the local regional hospital.
This issue is not being handled with the concerns of the community and the students in the surrounding community. This landfill most definitely needs to be addressed to being closed down as soon as possible.

this problem has been going on for years at this pit it is terrible. My house smells like smoke. Even without the fire the smell is always pretty bad and sets alergies off.

This is terrible. The school smells like smoke and the children are going to have to breathe this in every day. When it’s not smoky there is an awful stench that the children and teachers are having to breathe every day. This is not healthy! There is NO reason for a landfill to be by a school.

Yay…they just approved another landfill just like this in Molino. That’s OK, though…they promised it wouldn’t stink.

I’ve never known a pile of greenery to put off a smell like this place puts off.

It can be smelled a good 1/2 mile away. I’m sure it’s a natural smell, but it is really thick at night.

I just wanted to clarify that they do not grind anything at that landfill. They are just for debris to be dumped……

Also The main people that have been fighting the fire are the employees that work there.

I’m really surprised this pit is allowed to do what they’re doing adjacent directly to a school…much less surrounded by homes.

In the last six months, the smell from this pit has gotten really noticeable, especially at night. I believe they’re grinding vegetative matter…which really gives off a strong smell when drying/decaying/etc.

Next time you drive down hwy 29, roll down your windows between 9 1/2 Mile and 10 Mile Roads…you’ll smell it.

Hey new County Commissioner and school board member…could you look into this for us?
